Thereafter worked in 1995 as an account executive in an advertising agency owned by her uncle. In 1998 she was appointed to manage the Service & Design department in the same company, thereby becoming exposed to, and forging relations with, many local and international artists in commercial photography and framing.

After leaving the company in 2001/2002, Amira began painting and had her first exhibition in 2005 with the artist Hamza Bonu at Dar Al-funoon gallery, Kuwait. Since then she has been participating in group exhibitions and solo exhibitions in different parts of the region. In 2006, she exhibited at Institute De Monde Arab, Paris, with other Kuwaiti artists.

In 2010 Amira came across a non profit organization called Peace One Day, an organization founded by Jeremy Gilly, a British documentary director, whose mission was to bring about peace awareness in the world. After meeting with Gilly, Amira organized a charity event in Kuwait in 2012 in the form of an art exhibition whereby local and international artists were able to help contribute to peace awareness in the region. The event was the first of its kind in the region.

Amira is always drawn by the concepts behind the human figure and their thoughts, her work is mainly about theories and studies and it involves concepts that she wonders about. s
